In a previous post, “Do You Have MTV” (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/do-you-have-mtv), I wrote about MTV, its place in the culture when I was a teen and a young adult, and how a friend from England put some emphasis on having MTV in our room when we were searching for a hotel/motel room in Myrtle Beach. Below is a link to an interesting video by The Infographics Show YouTube channel (https://m.youtube.com/@TheInfographicsShow) concerning the obvious decline in MTVs cultural significance, why MTV plays so few music videos these days, and how the channel might remain in business now that it’s cultural relevance with young people is a distant memory.

For the record, I was not a fan of The Real World and I blame it for kicking off the reality show craze. Some kind of apocalyptic punishment DOES seem warranted for unleashing that particular plague on the world.
