Today’s Random Thought (09-MAR-2025)

This morning I heard “Hooked on a Feeling” by B. J. Thomas while I was driving to one of my delivery stops. It’s a celebration of being in love and being “…high on believing….” It speaks to the idea of a love that has an almost magical hold on you. Having been in love, I can confirm that being in love with someone that loves you is indeed a wonderful feeling.

Listening to the song, I remembered how I once told a friend how a woman that I had loved had seemed to have me under her spell and how I had joked that perhaps she was a witch. Reminiscing on this as “Hooked on a Feeling” played, I had a chuckle when I acknowledged that she also evidently had the magical power to destroy any warm feelings of affection that I might have had for her with seemingly little-to-no effort on her part. 🧙 😉
