Inspiration for My Own Creative Foray Into the Marvel Multiverse?

My recent viewing of video clips from the 1984 movie, Firestarter, was mentioned in my previous blog post, “Wilmington, North Carolina or ‘Hollywood East’” (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/wilmington-north-carolina-or-hollywood-east). It got me thinking that the movie could serve as the inspiration for a fun tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) adventure or campaign for a variety of genres and utilizing a variety of games and game systems.
Now I am currently reading and playing, albeit in a solitaire mode, the Call of Cthulhu TTRPG. And I am looking forward to resuming and completing my second run of the solitaire adventure, “Alone Against the Flames,” with a new player-character. (see https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/my-harrowing-horrifying-narrow-and-ultimately-delightful-and-thrilling-escape and https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/my-harrowing-horrifying-narrow-and-ultimately-delightful-and-thrilling-escape-an-addendum for a take on my first run). I could certainly see mining Firestarter for inspiration and themes with which to create an adventure or an ongoing campaign arc for the Call of Cthulhu game. Frankly, it could be mined for inspiration and themes for a variety of TTRPGs. But I am thinking that a Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game adventure or campaign inspired by Firestarter would be a lot of fun.
Firestarter could inspire the origin story for one or more of the super-powered player-characters and/or inspire an adventure or campaign in which a shadowy government agency or a criminal organization is creating or attempting to exploit or detain people with superpowers and the player-character superheroes must act to shut it down.
I have copies for a number of books for the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game and I am looking forward to eventually playing the game. Below are links to the Marvel webpage devoted to the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game and a link to a video detailing how the game is played. If you think that playing superheroes in the Marvel Multiverse sounds like fun or if you’re just curious, click on the links and check it out when you have a moment. Excelsior!
