I enjoy the classroom, both as an instructor and as a student. I love learning new things and I enjoy sharing what I have learned.
Prior to earning my undergraduate degree, I was a teacher assistant in a behavioral-emotional handicapped classroom for two years. During my almost nine-year stint in the clinical trials industry, I trained central files/records management staff and colleagues from other teams in central files/trial master file (TMF) processes and standards. As a sports performance coach/personal fitness trainer, I educated and trained athletes and fitness clients. I also contributed to internal continuing education training for my coworkers.
I have also spent a great deal of time in my life as a student. While I was on the “ten-year plan” in completing my undergraduate degree at East Carolina University (August 1991-July 2001), I loved being in the classroom even though I was an on-again, off-again student over that period. Not long after completing my undergraduate degree, I returned to the university setting and completed my master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania via a distance learning program. I admittedly wasn’t always a fan of writing papers and sitting for exams, but I enjoyed my academic experiences.
Now I am returning to the classroom. I have signed up to attend via teleconference, the “Harvard of Encased Meats”, Hot Dog University®. The program offered by Vienna Beef is intended to teach its students “The Art of the Cart.”
I like the idea of owning a business and the class seems like a relatively low-cost way to learn the ins and outs of starting just such a business in the future, if I suddenly or not-so-suddenly feel the urge to take a shot in the mobile food service industry. And ”frankly" it sounds like a lot of fun. 😉 🌭
